Sharing of Information
GhostSurf does not share any of your personal information (including the
sites you visit) with other programs or any sites on the Internet.
GhostSurf does not broadcast any information about your surfing habits,
your preferences or any other data available to GhostSurf back to Tenebril
or to any other site. GhostSurf's settings, which include your most
recently-viewed sites, are compressed and encrypted for your protection.
There is only one copy of GhostSurf's settings made, which resides in
a file in GhostSurf's folder. These settings are inaccessible to other logins
on the same computer.
Internet Transfers
GhostSurf will connect to the Internet for one of three reasons:
- To download and speed test anonymous hubs
- To download the pages you request from the websites you visit
- To download a "most recent version" file from the Tenebril website
Each of these processes is uni-directional: GhostSurf gets information from
the Internet, but it does not send any information to the Internet.
GhostSurf will not perform any of these actions without being asked. By
default, GhostSurf downloads and tests anonymous hubs every day. You can
disable this by deleting the default task in the
Scheduler. GhostSurf will not connect to
websites unless you surf the web using your web browser (or some other program
on your computer wishes to use the Internet). GhostSurf will not
check to see if there's a newer version of itself unless you click on the
"Check for new version" button in the "Program Info" window.
